About

Mission:

To become one body in Christ who celebrate the diversity of our traditions through fellowship, worship, and service.

Purpose:

The Waynesboro Fellowship of Churches has been in existence since 1960. Its purpose has been to connect with all local churches and community members to share, learn, relate, encourage, and support each other's congregations, events, and services needed for our community.

Clergy members, support personnel, and community activities gather once a month the various local church facilities in the area. (See Calendar for Date, Time, and Location). A time of fellowship with food, conversations, and gathering kicks off the meeting for about 1 hour, before the meeting officially starts. The time is invaluable to make new connections and glean from one another's ministries or services.

Each month we inform about upcoming events, community opportunities, and plan how ongoing collaborative support can be leaned on from one another. Key local service ministries from the Lunch Place, Shelters, Human Services, and more are discussed to determine how we maybe able to support their ongoing existence, help spread the word, rallying up volunteers, and advocate for assistance.

Come join us for a time of fellowship at one of our upcoming meetings or send an email to learn more about our purpose.

HISTORY:

Since 1960 the Waynesboro Area Fellowship of Churches (WAFC), a non-profit organization in the Waynesboro, Pennsylvania community has encouraged pastors and lay leaders to come together in cooperation to fulfill the mission of the Christian church to:

  • Provide an interdenominational agency for cooperation of the churches.

  • Respond to the religious needs of the community and devise plans through which these needs can be met.

  • Work together to accomplish what we might not be able to do on our own.

Financial Support

WAFC relies primarily on the donations of its membership to fund WAFC’s annual Mission Projects, Community Events, costs associated with providing ministry and outreach, and to support emergency church and community needs. A minimal donation is asked of each member church, agency, and institution. Agencies supported by WAFC budgeted mission funds are exempt from making this donation.

Donations can be mailed to: PO Box 503, Waynesboro, PA 17268

Relationships

WAFC is committed to work in a cooperative spirit in oneness with other organizations as deemed appropriate by the Ministry Council. It will seek to encourage the spirit of Jesus’ prayer: “…that they may all be one …so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:21.
